Apple has hired a former Google executive to strengthen its artificial intelligence push, particularly as it works to revamp Siri. The company appointed Lilian Rincon as Vice President of Product Marketing for AI, bringing nearly a decade of experience from Google, where she worked on shopping and assistant-related products.
Rincon will report to Apple’s marketing chief Greg “Joz” Joswiak and is expected to play a key role in shaping how Apple presents its growing AI capabilities to users. Her hiring comes at a critical moment, as Apple prepares to launch a significantly improved version of Siri later this year.
The updated assistant is being rebuilt using advanced AI technology, including integration with Google’s Gemini models. This reflects Apple’s broader effort to catch up with rivals in the fast-moving AI space and reposition Siri as a more capable, competitive digital assistant.
